Material intelligence
before installation.

Samples, specifications, mockups and field coordination for teams who need the finished surface to match the design intent.

01 / Professional support

A finish partner
for the whole team.

We help translate visual direction into a material system that can be sampled, specified, sequenced and installed with clear expectations.

01

Design development

Material comparisons, color and texture direction, sample development and finish recommendations suited to the architecture.

02

Technical coordination

Substrate requirements, wet-area boundaries, primers, protection, transitions, tolerances and trade sequencing.

03

Installation

Mockup approval, installation planning, field quality control, punch resolution and care documentation.

02 / Samples + mockups

A portable piece
of the design intent.

The sample is the shared language between client, designer, builder and artisan.

We develop finish samples against the project palette and identify the product, color, texture, movement, sheen and protection used. For important rooms or difficult lighting, an on-site mockup can establish the standard at architectural scale.

  • Project-specific sample boards
  • Color and texture development
  • Review beside adjacent materials
  • On-site mockups when scale matters
  • Recorded approval before installation

03 / Specification support

Make the finish
buildable.

A beautiful reference image is not yet a complete specification.

We help define the finish family, system layers, substrate standard, primer or bonding coat, protective treatment, edge conditions, sample requirement and installer responsibilities. Recommendations remain coordinated with manufacturer requirements and the project’s design professionals.

  • Finish-system descriptions
  • Substrate and preparation criteria
  • Wet-area and cleaning considerations
  • Approved-sample language
  • Protection and maintenance expectations

04 / Field coordination

Protect the finish
from the schedule.

The most refined wall can be compromised by the wrong substrate, late changes or uncoordinated trades.

01

Readiness review

Confirm substrate, moisture, lighting, access, utilities, transitions and preceding-trade completion.

02

Sequence the work

Place specialty finish installation at the right point relative to millwork, stone, electrical trim, flooring and final punch.

03

Protect + communicate

Define cure windows, surface protection, responsible parties and conditions for re-entry by other trades.

04

Close out clearly

Review the completed surface against the approved sample and document care, maintenance and future refresh expectations.

Collaboration in practice

Design is credited.
Craft is documented.

Our Pasadena Showcase House work demonstrates how finish, decorative art and interior design can operate as one composition.

05 / Common questions

Working together.

Can you develop samples before the construction contract is awarded?

Yes. Sample development and finish consulting can be scoped as a preconstruction service before installation pricing is finalized.

Can you work from an inspiration image?

Yes, as a visual direction. We then translate it into a real material system and physical sample; an image is never treated as an exact product specification.

Do you travel for design-led projects?

Yes. Travel work is considered according to finish, scope, schedule and mobilization requirements.

Can you coordinate directly with the general contractor?

Yes. We can provide substrate requirements, attend relevant coordination meetings and document prerequisites while respecting the contractor’s responsibility for overall construction means and methods.
