03 / Our story

Before pink was our color,
it was our material.

The craft has always
been in the walls.

Long before modern paint, Roman builders mixed lime with crushed terracotta to create a rose-colored waterproof plaster for baths, aqueducts and palazzi. The Venetians called its maker a murero. We would have called him The Pink Guy.

Our name carries that material history forward: old methods, contemporary restraint, and a belief that beauty belongs in the everyday rooms of a home.
